If You Don’t Get Reviews for Your Law Firm, You Won’t Get People to Trust You. Here’s Why

Reviews are now the online equivalent of word of mouth. Hence, more and more consumers are now relying on reviews to make their purchasing decision. According to a study conducted by Trustpilot, 92% of consumers read online reviews before purchasing online. That’s why they say that if you want your business to stand out on search engines, you need to be more consistent about getting your reviews.

That’s why other than creating a personalized and functional website, as well as a strong social media presence, you also need to make an impact on your consumer that they have something good to talk about regarding your law firm.

Why Does the Quantity of the Review Matter?

  1. It Strengthens Your Potential Clients’ Confidence in Their Decision to Choose You

Although knowing why your clients loved working with you matters, the number of clients that feel the same way matters, too.

Here’s a scenario:

If you’re looking for a bankruptcy lawyer, and this is the result…

Which law firm would you trust more with your case? Would it be the law firm with only under 10 reviews but have a 4-star rating or would it be a law firm with a rating close to 5 stars and has more than 70 reviews? Of course, your client would want to go to a law firm with the highest rating and the most reviews.

So when you see here, not only does Google boost your website’s visibility with your approval rating but also boosts your potential client’s confidence in choosing your law firm to help them.

  1. It Reduces the Impact of the Negative Reviews You Receive

When you think about it if you have at least 10 reviews, one bad review is going to make an impact on your potential client’s decision to choose you.

Think of it this way, if a law firm on a Google listing has a 4.5 rating but when someone has a bad experience with that law firm and wants people to know, that rating could go down to 4.15 or lower. And when the customer sees this bad review despite the many good reviews, they’re going to think twice about choosing this company.

Conversely, if a law firm has as many as 90 reviews with a 4.5 rating, one or two bad reviews won’t bring down the rating and make that much of an impact on the purchasing decision of the potential client. At the same time, if you responded to the potential client well, it can also factor in their decision in choosing you as the way you respond shows how much you are willing to improve for your clients.

  1. It Improves Your Search Engine Ranking

Your online reputation also plays a factor in Google’s search rankings. According to a study by Moz, reviews make up 15.44 percent of Google’s ranking. This means if you have a high number of reviews, then you’re sure to rank higher on Google. Ranking high is crucial for your business as it helps you get leads, conversions, and ultimately revenue.
